Sensitive to the state of Alabama’s racial history, Equal Justice Initiatives offer a space for community members and other interested stakeholders to identify and overcome the racial divisions that historically have undermined unity and social justice in the state of Alabama. Through its focus on engaging and empowering various groups, both on-and-off campus, Equal Justice Initiatives focus on the development and implementation of initiatives that explore the biases (conscious and unconscious) and beliefs that have contributed to racial tensions and violence in the state of Alabama.
