聋人教育 & 听力障碍
The mission of the 充耳不闻 and 听力障碍 Education Program is to prepare teachers who are competent professionals with the ability to make appropriate decisions regarding the evaluation and implementation of educational programs to meet the social, 情感, and academic needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The program was established in 1974 and is accredited by both the State Department of Education and NCATE. Montevallo is the only university in the state of Alabama to offer a 学位 in 聋人教育 and 听力障碍. 在完成B.S. 学位, graduates are eligible for Class B special education teacher certification in the area of deaf education.
After completing 60 hours of college credit (48 hours with General Studies), students will apply to become teacher candidates in the Teacher Education Program (TEP).

小学教育
The 小学教育 Program is for those who wish to teach at the elementary level (grades K-6). Completion of the program leads to Class B certification in the state of Alabama (a requirement for teaching in public schools) and a bachelor’s 学位 in 小学教育. In addition to a wide range of coursework and other program activities, teacher candidates complete a full-time (16 weeks) internship in a public school during their senior year.

The 小学教育 Program with Collaborative Teacher Certification is for those who wish to teach at the elementary level (grades K-6). Completion of the program leads to a bachelor’s 学位 in 小学教育 and Class B certification in the state of Alabama (a requirement for teaching in public schools) with additional certification to teach children who have cognitive, 行为, 物理, 和/或多重残疾. This endorsement is only available to students in the 小学教育 Program.

Our program is one of few in the country that combines exercise and nutrition sciences in a single 学位. We offer unique opportunities to fine-tune your career pathway through specialization in Allied Heath, 健康促进, 营养与健康(营养学), 力量与调节. With the job market for 物理 and occupational therapists remaining strong for the foreseeable future, this concentration is a good fit for those interested in the science of exercise and human movement. The Undergraduate 健康促进 Program is for those who wish to pursue careers in exercise physiology, 物理治疗, 职业治疗, 企业健身及其他健康相关专业. Course work is designed to provide a well-rounded scholarly understanding of the body of knowledge which relates human movement to wellness.

The Undergraduate Nutrition and Wellness Concentration offers students the opportunity to pursue acceptance into the Coordinated Program in Dietetics (CP) with the ultimate goal of becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). 项目完成后, students may be eligible to sit for the Registered Examination for Dietitians through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and enjoy a rewarding career in 健康care as the nutrition and food expert. 作为一名专业人员，注册营养师可以从事以下领域的工作:
